Unlock Your Cell Phone to Use the Cellular Service Provider Your Choose

Lots of individuals are not satisfied with their cell phone plans. Their option of choice: unlock their cell phones.

How about you? Have your been happy with the level of service and fees your cellular service provider offers? Most likely not.

The vast majority of phones, however, are tied to a specific cellular provider, and so are you. Think of it as purchasing a Ford automobile that can only receive the gas hose nozzle from a Shell gas station. With today\’s anti-monopoly legislation, it\’s difficult to imagine that cell phones can still be sold that way.

Cell phones are really small, dedicated computers with a display screen as well as a keypad or keyboard. These tiny computers can use many different programs (cell phone apps) and perform many different functions like making and receiving calls, texting, taking pictures and so on.

You typically purchase a cell phone which is programmed to function on only one cellular service provider\’s network. The identification of the network plus your personal cell phone number are stored on a removable SIM card. It\’s this subscriber identity module (or SIM card) and its small memory module that carries both your identifying cell phone number as well as the network the card works on. The SIM card allows a specific network to track your cellular usage so you receive accurate bills.

But, the significant point is that the cell phone\’s programming often looks for a \”key\” or code on the SIM card that identifies the network being used. Locked cell phones will connect only with a cellular service provider identified by a specific key. The program on the cellular phone will inform you it does not recognize a SIM card with the wrong cellular service provider\’s network.

So, how can you get a cell phone to connect to the cellular service provider of your choice?

There are actually two alternatives. You can reprogram your cellular phone to ignore the network code on the SIM card–this unlocks your phone. Or, you may purchase an already unlocked cell phone.

Most people are more concerned about getting their present cell phone to be active with a different network. Not being computer software engineers, most people will need a little help to reprogram or unlock their cell phones. Happily, the vast majority of cellular phones can be reprogrammed quickly and easily.

To unlock a cell phone you will need to change the program stored in the cellular phone so it will not test for a particular cellular network. This is not as difficult as it seems.

By pressing a certain sequence of keys on the keypad you gain entry to the programming and can change the program so it doesn’t check for a particular carrier. Unfortunately, the program for each manufacturer is different. And, even within similar models from the manufacturer, programs differ slightly.

So, when you wish to unlock your cell phone you\’ll have to know that exact sequence of key presses that work with the model you own. Using an inaccurate sequence of key presses could alter a different part of the program and make your cellular phone totally useless.

You\’ll need to find a dependable vendor of unlocking sequences and use the correct one for your phone. This is the safest way to unlock your cell phone so you may avail yourself of the cellular service provider of your choice.
